About BODYBOARDING US

The objective of Bodyboarding US is to show the young American public the sport of Bodyboarding and it's fantastic performances. This 100% American-born sport has spent the last few decades making an evolutionary jump in it's maneuvers. Created in 1971 in Hawaii by Tom Morey, the sport won over the world with a new way of wave riding. Deep barrel riding and explosive maneuvers involving multipositional rotations are the main features of this sport. On the other side of the spectrum, Bodyboarding at the entry level is an extremely easy and safe sport to have fun with at any age. Today, Bodyboarding has more than 10 million practitioners* of the sport worldwide.

The goal of Bodyboarding US is to raise awareness and increase visibility within the United States and specially the local sports communities, to emphasize the importance of Bodyboarding as a sport and lifestyle, and the dissemination and growth of a continuous and sustainable market. Among all aspects for the growth of the sport, the presence of idols and champions are fundamentals. These professional bodyboarders are the point of reference and inspiration for an entire generation of practitioners and consumers. For this we will encourage the creation of clubs, associations and schools, local and regional championships, a National circuit and more American athletes on the tour. In partnership with the APB NA, we will create a pathway for the mainland US, broadening the number of professional judges and instructors as well as increasing the number of competitive bodyboarders. Bodyboarding US arrives looking to the future, with success and prosperity emerging for the sport.
